Assessment Services
Assessments can be an important tool for people to better understand what may be affecting them cognitively, emotionally, or interpersonally. Typically, the division is between cognitive assessments and personality assessments.
Cognitive assessments assess for issues such as memory concerns, executive functioning difficulties, ADHD, IQ, learning difficulties, etc. It is typically a thorough process that will look at a variety of aspects to determine what may be affecting the individual and how can we best help this person bridge the gap or work through these concerns.
Personality assessments take an in-depth look at the person’s personality, including intra and interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem, emotional regulation abilities, and personality factors that my be affecting diverse aspects of their lives. These tests may vary between structured and unstructured assessments.
I believe that testing needs to be individualized to the person and their needs. My philosophy is not to make the assessment fit the person but to use the assessment to depict the person and what they are going through. By individualizing the tests used and by incorporating cognitive and personality aspects, I am able to create a rich depiction of the person and integrate recommendations and methods to help the person cope with the issues that arise.
