Dr. Nofar Ben-Avi (previously Dr. Nofar Yaacoby) utilizes a psychodynamic approach in therapy, though at times she incorporates cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) when warranted. Her approach is to help instigate understanding and insight that will help foster change in patients’ lives.
By allowing therapy to be an open space to get curious, Nofar enables the exploration of fantasies, dreams, and emotions. Through this, patients can begin to learn more about themselves, their fears, anxieties, and blocks that they have placed throughout their lives. Patients can begin to challenge certain aspects of their lives, develop agency, and create movement and change in their lives.
Dr. Nofar Ben-Avi specializes in treatment of patients coping with anxieties, traumas, personality challenges, relationships, identity issues, self-esteem, and overall problems of living.
